Local and State Government Technology Solutions
Government work is mission-driven. The technology behind it should be too.
Where tech gaps worry your staff
The technology challenges government agencies face aren't abstract — they're felt every day:
- Threats that put public data at risk
- Outdated infrastructure is slowing services
- IT teams stretched too thin
- No single partner that's accountable for the full picture
What our partnership brings
Government agencies need a partner who understands public accountability, procurement requirements, and what it means to do more with less.
The fact that we keep going back is very indicative of how helpful they are. There are vendors' products we've changed, but Marco is definitely not one of them.

Being able to work with a vendor who could evaluate our needs and then make it as cost-effective as possible is important.

How Rockford found significant savings
Having 45 different print devices in multiple locations made in-house management difficult. See the difference that right-sizing their fleet made.

What state and local agencies ask us most
Haven't worked with us before? Here's where some of our first conversations with local and state agencies start.
Marco holds several cooperative purchasing contracts that allow eligible government agencies to skip the bidding process. Through Sourcewell, agencies can purchase Sharp copiers and printers, Mitel telecommunications equipment, and related services. Through the Cooperative Purchasing Connection (CPC), Marco offers physical security systems (Contract #23.3), sound amplification and paging (Contract #24.1), and AV equipment, interactive displays, and devices (Contract #25.3) — available across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Minnesota state agencies can also purchase HP hardware and network equipment through the Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) contract.
All contracts are competitively bid and publicly awarded.
Marco layers several types of protection specifically for government's compliance and data-sensitivity needs.
Managed detection and response (MDR) provides continuous, 24/7 threat monitoring, while endpoint detection and response (EDR) protects individual devices from attacks that make it past the perimeter. That's backed by a comprehensive cybersecurity approach covering the full technology environment, not just individual tools, so gaps don't go unnoticed between systems.
Access controls paired with audit trails ensure only authorized personnel can view or modify citizen data, with a full record of who accessed what and when.
Marco's business process automation and document management solutions are designed to eliminate the repetitive, manual tasks that slow government operations down — from routing forms for approval to managing incoming documents across departments.
Marco can help agencies set up secure remote access, cloud-based collaboration tools, and unified communications systems that keep staff connected and productive whether they're in the office, in the field, or working remotely.
What the St. Paul Cyberattack Means for Local Governments
After three weeks of disrupted services and ongoing recovery efforts, St. Paul's experience demonstrates both the severe consequences of cyberattacks and the critical importance of rapid response.
Modern Document Management 101
While most businesses have modernized their tools and systems, their documents are managed the same way they were 20 years ago, which means administrative tasks are unnecessarily tedious.
