Chief Service Officer
Marco initially tapped Steve John in 2016 as a Solutions Architect and Pre-Sales Technical Engineer with the enterprise team, where he focused on growing business in Marco’s largest accounts. He soon became the leader of the sales engineering team and Vice President of IT Services before being named Chief Service Officer in 2021.
As Chief Service Officer, Steve leads the pre-sales engineering and service teams for all of Marco’s solutions. He brings three decades of technical experience and changes to his role, including working in sales engineering for industry-leading technology manufacturers like Cisco.
Since starting at Marco, Steve has been involved in assessing business models and solutions and helping to determine how Marco can keep improving – for our customers, our employees and our organization as a whole. He’s become known for navigating change while maintaining a positive and motivated culture focused on results.
If Steve could choose to have one superpower, he would want the ability to see into the future. The technology industry is always changing, and he yearns to see – before the rest of us – what the next wave of technology and solutions looks like, how that will lead to more innovation and drive a culture of excellence that everyone will want to be a part of.
When not at work, Steve enjoys coaching sports, relaxing at the lake, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his wife, their family and new grandson. If Steve could only eat one food every day for the rest of his life, it would have to be ribeye.

Vice president of the Barnesville (Minnesota) Booster Club, AAU Basketball assistant coach. He also has coached youth basketball (boys and girls), youth football, and he served on the Board of Elders at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barnesville.
