Chief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer, Dawn Zimmerman oversees marketing and communications, learning and development, and the company’s overall corporate strategy initiatives, brand and culture. She focuses on initiating strategies to share Marco’s brand across the markets we serve, identifying new opportunities and creating a compelling brand experience.
A childlike curiosity led Dawn to initially pursue a career in journalism, and she worked as a reporter and editor before starting and growing her own strategic marketing and communications company. As a natural storyteller and an award-winning journalist, Dawn became known for her ability to help organizations shape and share their brands in meaningful ways.
She began working as a consultant with Marco in 2007, and helped develop and support the execution of a series of strategies to build Marco's culture and grow the organization. As a consultant, Dawn recognized Marco wasn’t like other businesses. She felt empowered to achieve results for Marco, as though she were an insider. She joined Marco’s team full time and became an insider in 2021, when she was named Chief Marketing Officer.
Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children on or near the water – fishing, participating in water sports, or relaxing. She also enjoys traveling to new places and hiking.
If she had to choose a superpower, she would like the ability to freeze time ... or at least slow it down. She can move fast and achieve a lot in a short period of time. However, sometimes she wishes time would just slow down to enjoy each moment more.
