Early this month we finalized our purchase of Northeast Photocopy Company (NEP), Inc., which is located in Appleton and Green Bay, Wisconsin. This was an exciting acquisition for a number of reasons, but here are 2 of the most important:
- Expand Marco’s presence in Wisconsin
- Opportunity for Marco to provide services to a new customer base
Our Managed Print Presence in Wisconsin
Prior to this acquisition, Marco’s presence in Wisconsin was limited, geographically, to the western and southern areas of the state. Three of our 36 locations were Wisconsin-based, in Eau Claire, La Crosse and Madison.
By adding NEP’s footprint to ours, we expanded our reach across to the eastern border. Nora Schulz, President of NEP said, “I am proud to be associated with Marco and helping bring them into the Northeast Wisconsin marketplace.” Through this transition, the NEP employees have joined the Marco team. Their market and industry knowledge will greatly contribute to successfully continuing and expanding their Managed Print services, as well as introducing additional Business IT services.
Green Bay, home of the Green Bay Packers (something, as a MN based company, we won’t hold against them), Appleton and the surrounding area have very strong, local communities, which is supported by local and regional businesses that call this area home.
An Expanding Market
NEP has been in business for more than 50 years. In this time they have built a customer base of more than 1,600 businesses, not to mention a solid reputation for customer satisfaction.
We look forward to continuing their commitment to excellent customer service, as well as expanding the business technology services in that area. Their foundation and reputation provide Marco with a great geographic footprint and opportunity for expansion.
This fourth Wisconsin-based location is just the beginning for Marco. As our CEO Jeff Gau stated in the press release, “This acquisition supports our national growth strategy and will also allow us to expand our business IT services to their clients.”
Our growth and expansion over the last few years has been tremendous. With this latest acquisition we have increased our employee count to more than 800, all spread out across 36 locations. Just in the last year we have built 3 new regional offices to accommodate specific market, industry and team growth:
- Fargo, ND
- Sioux Falls, SD
- Des Moines, IA
But we aren’t stopping there; in fact, we don’t plan to stop any time soon. We are continually searching for opportunities to increase our value and our services for new and existing customers.
