$5,000 Grant, With Corporate Support From Marco, Will Help Finish Habitat House In Central Minnesota

ST. CLOUD, MINNESOTA, OCT. 5, 2021The St. Cloud Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation announced it is awarding a $5,000 grant to Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity to help finish building the upper level of a Habitat home.

The grant, which is made possible through corporate support provided by Marco, Wells, CLA and BankVista, will help cover the costs for construction materials.

St. Cloud Tech High School students will help with the construction work involved in the project, gaining building industry experiences in the framing, installing, siding, roofing and trim work needed to complete the home.

“We are so thankful for this grant award and partnership,” said Chad Johnson, executive director for Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity. “The St. Cloud Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation has funded amazing programs, and we are honored to use this gift to help educate local students at St. Cloud Tech High School in how to construct a new home for a family in Central Minnesota.”

Habitat projects in Stearns, Benton, Sherburne and Wright counties are built at no cost for qualifying, low-income families.

“Our association with Habitat for Humanity blesses our students with real, practical job skills that they learn making this house,” said Leah Sams, director of secondary curriculum, career and technical education programming at St. Cloud Tech.

Project S.A.V.E. is a certified 501(c)(3) charitable foundation administered by the St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club. Its main purpose is to provide grants, donations and scholarships in support of youth-related programs and activities involving sports, arts, volunteerism and education (S.A.V.E.) initiatives.
