Chief Strategy Officer

An ordinary moment in a college parking lot over 20 years ago turned into an extraordinary opportunity for Trevor Akervik. It led him to join Marco as a copier sales professional.

Now, as Chief Strategy Officer, he puts his skills to work in strategizing and building. He oversees Human Resources and is responsible for helping craft the structure of the future of the organization, to offer support and prepare for growth. He leads efforts to create new strategies, as well as modifies existing strategies to support market dynamics and achieve Marco’s business plan.

His clear commitment to helping customers and exceeding goals earned him the role of sales manager, and he was chosen to help establish and oversee Marco’s managed service practice in 2009. He became Vice President of Managed Services and has been a key player in Marco building its IT business.

If his life were a book, it would be titled, “Constantly Learning, Always Evolving,” with the final line being, “Everything’s a lesson that leads you to the next challenge. If you pay attention to the lessons you’re learning, you will be better prepared for the next challenge.”

In his free time, you’ll likely find him doing something active – walking, running, Peloton-ing or playing pickleball. He is also an aspiring car enthusiast. He does slow down – occasionally – and enjoys spending time with friends and family, including his wife and their two daughters.

Community involvement

United Way of Central Minnesota, executive board member. Past experience includes serving as a campaign chairperson and cabinet member of the United Way of Central Minnesota, and as a board member for the St. Cloud Area YMCA.
