Purchasing Supervisor

St. Cloud, MN

Marco is now hiring a Purchasing Supervisor to work in our St. Cloud office. This full-time position will work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing product procurement and inventory management for all divisions navigating through multiple product lines. You will also provide supervision and direction to the Purchasing team to ensure Marco’s internal and external client’s expectations and deadlines are met. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision for the Purchasing team members to include:
    • Lead, coach and train team members             
    • Assist with developing and implementing strategic initiatives for team
    • Be an escalation point of contact to handle issues
    • Monitor team coverage, oversee personal time off approval, make sure back-ups are in place and redistribute work to cover when others are out
    • Monitor staffing and equipment needs and make recommendations to Purchasing Manager
    • Conduct performance reviews and make compensation recommendations to Purchasing Manager
    • Conduct interviews and assist in hiring decisions with involvement of Purchasing Manager
  • Supervise all sales order and purchase order processes including billing and fixed asset process and assist with resolving discrepancies and escalation
  • Coordinate part number maintenance, product cost and resale price information including understanding state tax laws and FIFO
  • Analyze inventory movement including inventory turnover, stock levels, reorder levels, excess, processing adjustments, transfers and variances and determining items for stock, relocation or liquidation based on analysis
  • Coordinate the review of open sales order and purchase order reports monthly and escalate as needed
  • Supervise and approve creation of all types of warehouse sites including supply & parts sites and assign resources to complete usage auditing    
  • Supervise quarterly cycle counts to ensure completion, resolving discrepancies and assisting with escalation

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior purchasing and leadership experience is required
  • Proficient with business collaboration tools including MS Office applications, Outlook, vendor software and company specific programs
  • Superior oral and written communication skills with internal and external clients
