Marco Receives Three Best Workplace Honors

September 24, 2013

Marco Inc. received the state’s top workplace awards and its highest employee satisfaction score in the wave of its largest employee growth in the company’s history. The St. Cloud-based technology provider has added 310 employees in the past year.

The company has been named one of the Top 100 Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune and Minnesota Business this summer and also received the 2013 Best Place to Work by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

The results of Marco’s annual employee survey scored the company 4.62 in work satisfaction on a 5-point scale, up from 4.22 a year ago and the highest value in the survey’s 25-year history. Marco employees also gave the company high scores in training and continuous improvement. Employees ranked the company’s employee ownership as most important to them. Marco’s stock value increased 44 percent last year.

“Being known as a great place to work has become a hallmark of our company and something we don’t take for granted,” Marco CEO Jeff Gau said. “This was our 25th consecutive year of measuring employee satisfaction, which includes everything from compensation and benefits to manager’s performance and trust in leadership. My primary role at Marco is to support a culture that people want to be a part of. We have the best people and I want them to walk in every day feeling good about their workplace.”

The latest results from the 100-question survey affirm the independent analysis of three respected Minnesota organizations that earned Marco Top Workplace awards.

About Minnesota Business Top Workplaces

The 100 Best Companies to Work For program at Minnesota Business recognizes Minnesota organizations that are setting the standard for leadership, benefits, best work environment, innovative training programs and employee happiness. In its inaugural year, the awards recognize small, mid-sized and large businesses that continue to make an impact and set the standard of excellence for others to follow.

Beginning in February 2012, independent research group, Gilmore Research, gathered information from employee satisfaction surveys. Over 5769 individuals responded on behalf of hundreds of companies. “It is truly an honor to recognize leaders in the Minnesota business landscape who strive to raise the bar in employee satisfaction,” stated Kate-Madonna Hindes, Editor-in-Chief of Minnesota Business Magazine.
