Behind the CTO Insider Blog
A self-described techie, Steve has always appreciated technology and its game-changing potential. But when it comes to business, he doesn't believe in having technology for the sake of. It needs to be used to improve operations. Yes, he's also a numbers guy.
While Steve understands the technical and often complex aspects of technology, he remains focused on how he can use technology to make jobs easier or an organization stronger. His perspective has helped propel Marco's market position and post strong profits even during economic downturns.
Steve spends a great deal of time on the road, meeting with international manufacturers, testing emerging products and identifying new ways to use technology to boost the bottom line for customers. At any given time, you'll see him carrying multiple devices, equipped with varying applications, so he can try it before he ever recommends an organization implement it.
Steve's down-to-earth personality and "no geek speak" philosophy have made him a sought-after speaker on technology nationwide. He currently leads a national peer group on technology and mentors companies internationally on best practices.
Steve graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He led the development of IT networks for the United States Air Force and served at the simulation facility for Bracht, Deckers & Mackelbert before joining Marco in 1999. Today, he leads Marco's progressive IT strategy as Chief Technology Officer and assists customers as Vice President of Professional Services. Read Steve's full bio.
