Document management is the technologies and tools used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content across an organization. It is the link between customer-facing applications and internal processes. Document management systems enable users to create and manage electronic documents that can be viewed, searched, and printed from virtually any computer or printer while pages retain their original look and feel, complete with text, graphics, photos, and color.
Document management takes an organization’s content throughout its lifecycle – from the creation of an idea scribbled on a sheet of paper, to the management of the multiple working documents to flush out that idea, to the archival of those documents.
