The Challenge

One of the main reasons Dedicated Logistics was looking to make a change in their document solutions and vendors was service. They were using one networked printer, five analog (non-connected) copiers, and several LaserJet printers throughout their six locations.  A standalone high volume copier unit was used at their corporate office for the majority of their printing. When they contacted their previous vendor for service, at times it took up to a week to get a response. Amanda Holder, IT Manager for Dedicated Logistics, knew she needed to make a change. “We were receiving poor service and support and were having billing issues that needed to be resolved,” said Amanda. “I am responsible for fixing jams and lost jobs, so I needed a solution and new vendor I could count on.”

The Solution
Ryan Zimmer, Marco Account Representative, contacted Amanda about a year ago to talk about the printing issues they were experiencing and provide a solution to address their service problems and increase their productivity. Marco looked at what they were currently spending on printing and proposed a solution to replace the higher volume unit with a new networked Konica 7165 at their corporate office. Marco recommended replacing their analog units with a variety of networked Sharp copiers/printers. According to Amanda, “Marco was able to replace all of our analog, standalone units for less than what we were paying.”

“We had older standalone LaserJet and DeskJet printers that were no longer very good quality or reliable,” said Amanda. “We were able to eliminate most of those printers by replacing them with a Konica 7165 networked printer that each department now sends their print jobs to, and it allows us to copy, print, duplex, and staple. The unit saves us toner costs and is much more reliable.”

In addition, Dedicated Logistics had different contracts and maintenance agreements on each of their units which made keeping track of the units an administrative headache. Marco bought out their existing contracts and was able to setup all of the new units on one contract which includes all of the equipment, service, and supplies—everything except paper and network troubleshooting services. They now only get one bill per month for their units at all six locations, which saves them much administrative time.

And Marco was able to provide Dedicated Logistics with what they wanted the most from a new vendor—great service! “We wanted to make sure we get the service we need and expect,” said Amanda.  “I really liked the fact that Marco could provide fast service. I even recommend them to others. Marco’s proposed solution came in at a good price and I got good vibes from Ryan. When I called to get a hold of him, I always got a quick response. We also felt they were honest.”

Dedicated Logistics also finds Marco’s data networking experience to be a benefit. Amanda said, “Marco connected all of the units to our network. I have worked closely with Robyn Courchane and Greg Van Zuilen (Marco Network Engineers)  to work through getting some network issues resolved. I’ve called Robyn so often and she’s always able to get me an answer and help me out. She’s honest and easy to understand. It’s a beautiful network!”
The Benefits
The installation of Dedicated Logistics new copiers/printers was rolled out in two phases and configured to allow all employees access to not only their high volume Konica printer but also to their Sharp copier/printers. “Everyone likes having a backup printer so if our main printer is down, we have no downtime,” said Amanda.

“I don’t have this relationship with any other vendor. It’s so great!” commented Amanda. “Every problem I had in the past was fixed, and all services provided have gone beyond all expectations. It’s nice to have a company that will go the extra mile and even move our equipment from one location to another and from one state to another.”

Amanda added, “There’s no other company I deal with that has a sales representative like Ryan and the support I receive from Robyn. It’s been really great and it’s just so easy!”
