The Challenge

As the copying equipment R.L. Engebretson owned became dated, they were looking for new equipment with enhanced features that could be managed on a leasing program. Kim Manuel, Principal of the company, evaluated copiers/printers and programs from three different vendors and decided to choose Marco as their document solutions provider.

The Solution
Their decision to go with Marco was due in part to the service and response they received from Marco’s technology advisor, Kevin Eide. “Kevin’s attitude and process in servicing his accounts goes above and beyond,” explained Kim. “Marco was very accommodating in addressing our particular needs and making sure we were satisfied.”

Kim also liked that Marco is a stable company that has been in business for many years and has a good reputation. She values the multiple locations Marco serves as their company expands to other areas as well.

Marco installed R.L. Engebretson’s first Sharp copier about three years ago and a Konica bizhub color imager about a year ago. Most recently they have added a Sharp AR-237 multifunction printer (MFP) to fulfill their growing document output needs. R.L. Engebretson’s equipment was combined on Marco’s Managed Account Program—a flexible financing program which includes all of the equipment, service, and supplies—everything except paper, staples, and network troubleshooting services. Equipment features and copy volumes can be adjusted as their needs change. Kim commented, “The flexibility in having a single source for our contracts has been great! Marco has been very flexible in changing the program according to our needs as our copy volume increases, etc.”

Kim said that Kevin worked directly with their IT person to connect the equipment to their network, which made her job easier. “That relationship has worked well. Overall, we’ve been very satisfied,” said Kim.

R.L. Engebretson is benefiting from using the scanning feature of their Sharp MFP, which allows them to scan their documents electronically directly to email. According to Kim, “To go from a paper society to electronic has been somewhat of a challenge, but it is definitely worth it!” They use the Konica bizhub color unit to output marketing materials for a small graphics company they own and also for their in-house marketing.

Service is often what proves to be the value of a purchase, and this was definitely confirmed in talking with Kim. “The service we receive from our sales representative is no less than excellent!” she said. “If Kevin hears we are having the slightest issue, it is on the top of his list to remedy it immediately. His typical response to us is an email flagged as “priority” and a follow-up phone call. I can call and leave Kevin a message at midnight, and we will have a service technician here first thing the next morning.”

Kim appreciates the relationship Marco has established with them over the past few years. “Marco is very fair. If we can’t do something, Kevin communicates that to us. Their honesty and customer service have been great!”
