Law Enforcement Center Likes the Durability and Flexibility of Steelcase Office Furnishings

A new facility for Hubbard County Law Enforcement was a welcomed improvement for this growing community. An $8.6 million bond referendum allowed the county to build a new law enforcement center and jail which was completed in March of 2006.

After many years of sharing limited space in their previous building which now houses their probation department, Hubbard County Law Enforcement Center’s staff couldn’t be happier with their new facility which was built to allow for future growth.

The Law Enforcement Center chose Marco to help them plan and furnish their new facility. Cindy Lewer, Marco sales representative, worked with Sheriff Gary Mills and Jayne Moyer, Office Administrator/Accountant. “One of the things we looked at was representation from a local company,” said Gary. “Marco is a local company that could provide a quality product and meet our timing issues.”

Jayne met with the Law Enforcement Center’s employees to determine their needs and then worked with Marco’s design team to create a plan for the work areas and offices. Marco then provided them with CAD drawings and furniture recommendations for each of the areas. Jayne explained, “Marco made the process very easy. They came over during the construction process to help us plan for what we needed.”

Gary added, “When we were in the building process, no one had the time to dedicate to designing the offices. Marco came in and did this for us. They designed the areas according to how we wanted it. They had the experience to recommend how the furniture should be arranged for the best use of our space. They had very good ideas for us.”

The Solution

Marco provided the Law Enforcement Center with a variety of Steelcase products including open workstations for their reception and administrative area and offices, storage cabinets, movable tables and chairs for flexibility in their break room and conference room, shelving for their records room, and seating throughout the building.

“We went with one color scheme for the furniture so everything can be moved and mixed and matched,” said Jayne. Marco’s designers also helped the Law Enforcement Center re-deploy most of their existing systems in various areas of their facility, saving them money.

Both Gary and Jayne commented on the quality and durability of the Steelcase furniture. “We’ve been here for over a year now and it still looks new,” Gary pointed out. “The durability is key – we don’t have to buy furniture for a long time now.”

Hubbard County Law Enforcement Center was pleased with the installation of their new furnishings. Gary explained, “Marco made our move so neat. Our offices were all set up and all we had to do was move in. The project wasn’t piece-milled together – it all coordinates together so well. Marco’s delivery people were very cordial and they worked with us and what we wanted. We are very pleased.” Jayne added, “It went so smoothly – everything was just done.”

When asked if they would recommend Marco, Gary replied, “You have our full recommendation. We regularly encourage other counties to come and see our new facility and we always tell them we got the furniture from Marco.”
